My Art History...
I grew up admiring my grandmother's art; Grandma Bennett.
Beatrice Bennett a water colorist, and was famous in her home town- Germantown, PA.
She did paintings of people's homes and historical sites.
She painted the Betsy Ross' house, Independence Hall, and other places around Philadelphia.
She was commissioned by the Rockefeller family, and Andrew Wyeth to paint their homes.
My grandmother passed away in 1972, leaving some wonderful art to remember her by.
Admiration, Art School, Artist at Work--
I entered many art contests as a child- won some- lost some.
I went to Art School and worked several jobs in the art related field including
a newspaper, corporate artist, advertising --
but assumed the position of Mom in the early 90's. I continue to work in the arts part time
as time allows raising my family.
The Art Teacher
As my kids grew older I stepped it up a notch and started taking on more art related jobs.
Since 2004 I have been teaching visual arts at Holden Christian Academy.
I must say- teaching art to children is so rewarding-
They love art and I love teaching them.
